The gestures that have replaced the home button on iPhone X generally work great. But one of them is so impossibly, unnecessarily dumb it made my head explode every time I had to use it: closing apps.
To fully close an app on the iPhone X, you need to flick up from the bottom of the screen, then press and hold for a second or so, which will give you a flickable list of all your open apps, complete with the minus ("-") signs in the top left corner of each window.
